They generally aren’t prescribed if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding or planning a pregnancy, or if you or a family member has had medullary thyroid cancer or multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 (MEN 2). A history of pancreatitis or an eating disorder is also reviewed carefully.
